A colossal reclining Buddha resting on the roofline, calm and unblinking above the road.
20/4 Thep Krasattri Rd, Si Sunthon, Thalang District, Phuket 83110
Travelers heading north often look up to find a colossal reclining Buddha resting on the roofline, calm and unblinking above the road. Formerly called Wat Lipon, the temple name recalls Phuket’s heroines of Thalang and the community courage that shaped local identity. Under the serene gaze, devotees lay lotus blooms and smooth gold leaf onto smaller images, asking for safe journeys and steady health. On festival days the grounds fill with food stalls, children racing about, and the hum of Pali chanting from the hall. It is both a roadside landmark and a living village temple.
